Since the Xinjiang Green Hydrogen Demonstration Project successfully produced hydrogen on June 30, 2023, it has been operating safely and smoothly for 335 days as of May 30. When the project is in full production, it can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 485,000 tons per year.
The Xinjiang Green Hydrogen Demonstration Project is my country's first 10,000-ton green hydrogen refining project. The project makes full use of the abundant solar energy resources in the western region, uses photovoltaic power generation to directly produce hydrogen, and builds a green hydrogen refining project that integrates production, storage, transportation, and use of hydrogen. The project has an annual hydrogen production capacity of 20,000 tons and a hydrogen storage capacity of 210,000 Nm3/h.
Green hydrogen is directly produced through electricity generation from renewable energy sources such as solar energy and wind energy, and basically no greenhouse gases are produced during the production process. my country is rich in renewable resources, has great potential for the production of green hydrogen, and has broad prospects for future development. The refining industry will be one of the main application scenarios for green hydrogen to achieve carbon reduction in the industrial field. This project completely replaces the existing natural gas fossil energy hydrogen production, opens up a new development path for green hydrogen refining, provides a demonstration for the industrial application of green hydrogen in my country, and has a significant demonstration effect on the large-scale use of green hydrogen by refining and chemical companies to achieve carbon emission reduction, promoting the transformation and upgrading of my country's energy industry.

It is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 485,000 tons annually, providing an effective way to reduce carbon emissions in the industrial sector. This project makes full use of renewable energy to produce hydrogen, which not only promotes the green transformation of the energy industry, but also provides an important demonstration and reference for domestic and foreign green hydrogen industrial applications and carbon emission reduction.
