The world's first hydrogen fuel cell crane is officially put into use
Recently, the world's first hydrogen fuel cell crane was officially put into use. This news has attracted widespread attention from the outside world.
Known as the world's first hydrogen fuel cell-powered tire crane, it has begun commercial operation. This is the first time that a fully hydrogen-powered tire crane has been put into commercial operation.
Using fuel cell hydrogen technology, it can achieve zero emissions without being connected to the grid. It is powered by a fuel cell power pack and the crane is being commissioned as part of a pilot project scheduled to be operational over the next four years.
Initially, it will run 16 hours a day. It will match the efficiency of conventional diesel-powered or hybrid cranes. It has a 6+1 wide loading profile, a maximum lift of 68 feet, and a lift speed of 75 feet per minute when loaded. The trolley's speed reaches 229 feet per minute.
The typical diesel-powered crane emits the carbon dioxide equivalent of burning more than 400 barrels of oil each year. In addition to reducing emissions, the crane also reduces noise pollution for port workers. By bringing container cranes into service, we are not only introducing new fuel technology for cranes, but we are also leading our industry in significantly reducing emissions.
