Including 1 achievement in the field of hydrogen energy! NEA Announces Top 10 Science and Technology Innovations in the Energy Sector for 2023

On January 30, the National Energy Administration announced the top ten scientific and technological innovations in the energy industry in the year 2023, and the "low energy consumption megawatt-class proton exchange membrane electrolysis water hydrogen plant" jointly completed by SIPC, China Huadian, and Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences (Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, CAS) was honored to be listed among the top 10, and it was the only achievement selected in the field of hydrogen energy.

Proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysis of water to produce hydrogen is a key technology that can realize the conversion of large-scale renewable energy into green hydrogen energy. This achievement realizes the independent control of catalyst, proton exchange membrane and other key core materials and components of PEM hydrogen production by water electrolysis. Based on the results of this project, the Delingha High-Altitude Alpine Area Light-Hydrogen Storage Integration Demonstration Project were completed and put into operation in September 2023,which has strongly promoted the commercialization of China's high-performance PEM hydrogen production plant.

At present, the results have been demonstrated and applied in Hydrogen Integration Demonstration Project. In addition, the results will be realized in 50MW scale application in  wind-scenery green hydrogen synthesis ammonia integration demonstration project, which will become the world's largest volume of PEM hydrogen application project, and the equipment delivery has already begun.
