1.Definition and classification
Definition: Hydrogen compressors are equipment that compresses hydrogen to increase its pressure. They are widely used in hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, hydrogen energy stations, hydrogen storage systems and other fields.

Classification: According to the working principle and internal structure, hydrogen compressors can be divided into two categories: mechanical compressors and non-mechanical compressors. Mechanical compressors are further subdivided into liquid-driven compressors, diaphragm compressors, linear compressors and ionic liquid compressors; non-mechanical compressors include cryogenic liquid pumps, metal hydride compressors, electrochemical hydrogen compressors and adsorption compressors.

2.Working principle
The working principle of hydrogen compressors is mainly based on the principle of gas compressibility, and the compression and pressurization of hydrogen are achieved through the reciprocating motion of the piston in the compression chamber. Taking the liquid-driven compressor in the mechanical compressor as an example, its working principle is that hydraulic oil is used as the driving medium, and the  gas pressurization piston is driven by the driving side piston to achieve gas suction and push out. A one-way valve is installed on the gas side cylinder to control the flow direction of the gas and ensure the smooth progress of the compression process.

3. Structural characteristics of various types of hydrogen compressors
The liquid-driven compressor uses hydraulic oil as the driving medium. The driving side piston drives the gas pressurization piston to move to achieve gas suction and push out. A one-way valve is installed on the gas side cylinder. When the piston returns, the gas pressure opens the one-way valve on the suction side, and the one-way valve on the output side is in a closed state to achieve suction. When the piston pushes, the one-way valve on the suction side is closed, and the one-way valve on the output side is opened to achieve gas output. The compressor is double-headed, and the piston can achieve 2 pressurizations in one reciprocating cycle, with high pressurization efficiency.

The working principle of the diaphragm compressor is that the motor drives the crankshaft to rotate, the crankshaft pushes the connecting rod, and the connecting rod pushes the piston to reciprocate, so that the piston uses hydraulic oil to drive the diaphragm. The diaphragm is clamped by two limiting plates along the periphery to form a cylinder. The diaphragm is driven by hydraulic pressure to reciprocate in the cylinder, thereby achieving gas compression and transportation. This product is suitable for hydrogenation stations with a large average daily hydrogenation volume and continuous operation.
